Ratlou: Maintenance Workshops across all District Local Education Offices (LEO)

The South African School’s Act state that the governing body of the public school must administer and control the school property, building and grounds occupied by the learners, with this Act the Department ensures learners and educators have a safe and healthy learning environment.

It is with the above background that the Ngaka Modiri Molema District has been conducting maintenance workshops across all the District Local Education Offices targeting Circuit managers, Principals and School Governing Bodies capacitating them on how they will use the 10% allocated to schools for maintenance effectively, on this particular day the workshop is being held at Laerskool Zeerust in Ramotshere Moiloa Local Education Office.

This workshop aims at ensuring that the safety of the learners and educators are prioritised at all cost by constantly doing day-to-day maintenance, weekly maintenance and monthly maintenance to avoid neglecting properties.

Mr Manafela from Corporate Support Services, Infrastructure unit gave a presentation regarding doing an effective maintenance in schools and what to prioritise when doing an effective maintenance services.
