OBJECTIVE

  • To inform Learners and Parents about the importance of Vaccination Programme
  • To ensure that all Learners and Parents receive correct information
  • To ensure advocacy for high vaccination rate

COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign for Learners

  • All learners 12 years and older are eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccine.
  • As schools reopens getting vaccinated provides an important layer for protection to our learners
  • Vaccinating against COVID -19 means less worry and increased efficient learning
  • Keep our school safe.
  • Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is the best way to protect us all and defeat this virus.
  • Vaccines work best when as many people as possible get vaccinated, NOT JUST YOU.
  • Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect our school communities from the spread of COVID-19. Everyone (learners, teachers and support staff) age 12 and above, register now for covid-19 vaccination

Managing Side Effects
The COVID-19 vaccine is safe. Some side effects are normal signs the vaccine is working.
Learners will be observed for at least 15 to 30 minutes after they are vaccinated so that professional health workers can help if they develop an allergic reaction.

Some common side effects are:

  • Pain, redness, or swelling on the arm
  • Tiredness
  • Headache
  • Muscle pain, chills, or fever
  • Nausea

Note: Some children will have no side effects OR allergic reactions. If YOU experiences a severe allergic reaction after getting a COVID-19 vaccine, seek immediate medical care!

Adherence to COVID-19 Prevention Measures Post Vaccination
As much as we all long to return to our pre-COVID freedoms, it is still important to maintain measures that protect us from contracting COVID-19. We must continue to wear mask, keep a physical distance from other people, avoid crowds and confined spaces, and wash our hands regularly.
