MENTAL HEALTH IN SCHOOLS

The Mental Health Counselor is partnering with different stakeholders to promote safety awareness in schools for a proactive way to support learners emotional well-being. It helps to create a safe, trusting environment where learners feel supported and are better equipped to manage stress, ultimately fostering their mental health and resilience.

Dr Khido Ramadie, a  Psychologist from the North West University today visited Ipeleng Primary School in Montshiwa to motivate and inspire learners.
“Learners, your freedom is in your hands. If you were imprisoned, you wouldn’t have this privilege, so cherish it. Take care of your behavior and actions otherwise your life will be as demonstrated, STOP fighting, stealing and bullying others. Teachers, your well-being matters and deserves attention. Parents, please take responsibility for guiding and nurturing your children”, expressed Dr Khido Ramadie.

The mental health roadshows are aimed at promoting learners wellbeing and improve academic performance.

The South African Police Services and Department of Correctional Services also joined in, sharing valuable life lessons and inspiring learners to make positive choices.
