MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR RIETPAN LEARNERS GOES AHEAD

The memorial service for the late eight learners of Reitpan near Zeerust went ahead as planned on Thursday, 24 October 2019 at Letlhakane Primary School.

The touching service was attended by families of the deceased learners, teachers as well their classmates, departmental officials and community members to send their goodbyes.

Also in attendance of the memorial service was MEC Matsemela who conveyed her condolences to the families of the deceased and the school community.

Matsemela thanked the support granted by the Department of Social Development for providing counselling to learners, educators and families of learners involved in the accident. She [Matsemela] also thanked the Department of Health for the medical aid of the hospitalized learners.

“We are thankful for the continued support from our colleagues from Social Development and Department of Health for rendering counselling medical assistance and care to the still hospitalized learners. We will continue to monitor the condition of the learners until they are discharged”, Matsemela expressed.

A mass funeral for all eight learners will take place on Saturday, 26 October 2019 at Rietpan Sports ground at 07:00am.
