ITALY: Special Olympic World Winter Games Turin 2025

North West MEC for the Department of Education Ntsetsao Viola Motsumi as well as MEC for Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation, Tsotso Virginia Tlhapi, today attended the Special Olympics Flame of Hope in Turin, Italy. The flame lights the cauldron during the Opening ceremony to mark the official start of the Special Olympic World Winter Games Turin 2025.

This is the world largest inclusive sports and humanitarian winter event, where close to 2 000 athletes with intellectual disabilities worldwide will be competing in 8 various sporting codes in an international demonstration to forge social cohesion, greater recognition and unity.

The Special Olympic World Winter Games exemplifies an inclusive world where sport unifies people with intellectual disabilities and affirms their inherent human rights to sport, education, culture and etc.
Along with the Director Kagiso Ntshwe in the office of the MEC and Dr Lebogang Mauco.
