
The Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Mondli Gungubele, made a formal donation of 40 laptops to Setumo Secondary School in Majemantsho, located near Mahikeng. This initiative is strategically designed to enhance online learning capabilities for learners, with a particular focus on supporting Grade 12 learners in their applications to higher education institutions.
Moreover, the Minister inaugurated a cyberlab at the school, which will offer additional resources and assist learners in effectively navigating the digital landscape.
The Department of Communications and Digital Technologies, in collaboration with the Department of Education in the North West, acknowledges the proactive efforts of the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) in aligning its initiatives with socio-environmental development goals, thereby fulfilling its commitment to social responsibility. The agency aims to positively influence communities and contribute to societal progress.
During the event, Mr. Gungubele was accompanied by Mahikeng Local Municipality Mayor Tshepiso Mphehlo and MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Madoda Sambatha. They underscored the significance of safeguarding the laptops and the cyberlab, emphasizing that these resources are designed to benefit and empower the learners of Setumo Secondary School, ultimately fostering their educational development and future opportunities.
