The North West Education and Sport Development confirmed that the first day of the matric examination went smooth without any reports of irregularity.
The first day which consisted of 40 222 candidates across the province wrote English as their first subject was declared as a success.
MEC Sello Lehari could not contain his excitement on the success of the first day of the matric examination.
“On behalf of the province I would like to thank all stakeholders who made the first day of the matric examination a success. Our learners were focused and there were no incidents of irregularity in the examination centres. We wish this successful spirit to continue until the last day of the examination”, said MEC Lehari. Today candidates are writing their second subject Accounting.
