MEC Motsumi Conducts an oversight visit at Reivilo Secondary School

The North West Education MEC, Ntsetsao Viola Motsumi, conducted an oversight visit at Reivilo Secondary School on Wednesday, 24 September 2025 regarding issues of burglary, camps, renovations, and curriculum performance.

The visit follows an incident of burglary that occurred on September 9, 2025, during the Preparatory Exams period. The meeting between MEC, Departmental officials, SGB and the principal discussed challenges that are faced by the school such as infrastructure, furniture and transport.

The meeting resolved on the following:
– Four classrooms to be built,
– Renovations for the science and computer lab,
– Infrastructure officials to assess and conduct an oversight visit at the school hostels,
– Increasing security personnel in all three sites of the school.

“It is our primary focus to make sure that as the Department we work hand in hand with our community forums and community at large to safeguard our assets in order to have a sustainable future for our learners. With year-end examinations coming in under a month, we want to ensure that safety and security is restored at the school”, said MEC Viola Motsumi.

The burglary case remains under police investigation.
