As part of build-up prayers for the province, the MEC for the Northwest Department of Education gave all districts the opportunity to pray for the smooth running of the final examination and divine power to protect our learners during this difficult time of the year.
The build-up prayers started on the 04th of October 2024 at Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati and continued to Bojanala District on the 15th of October 2024.
Today (16 October 2024) marks the last leg of the district’s precursor prayers across the province before the Provincial Prayer that will be held Ngaka Modiri Molema District at Mmabatho Convention Center on the 18 October 2024.
The build-up prayers were meant to strengthen the province’ call to the Almighty to intervene in the final examination across the province.
The prayers were also scheduled to allow learners the opportunity to get motivations from different stakeholders and denominations as well as from other learners’ representatives.
It was also planned to encourage learners to calm down and resist any form of temptations and peer group pressures that may defocus them in preparing thoroughly for examinations.
The Dr Kenneth Kaunda District prayer came at the time when there were only five days left to kickstart the 2024 Grade 12 final examination in South Africa, which will start on the 21st 2024 and end on the 28 November 2024.
The district held a very successful prayer and pledge signing ceremony, which was supported by a variety of key stakeholders and education partners from all over the district.
A total number of 7626 learners from 68 secondary schools will be seated for the final Matric examination in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District in 2024.
The District Director, Mr Benny Monale, urged all learners to ensure that they go to schools to write final examination until the last day of the examinations. He wished them well in their examinations and pleaded with them to uphold the pledge and rules if the examinations.
